Terminal 1 to Terminal 3: What Changed

Manchester Airport spent over a decade expanding Terminal 2 into a modern facility that now handles around 75% of all passenger traffic. As part of this transformation, Terminal 1 was gradually wound down throughout 2025. Airlines including easyJet, Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Turkish Airlines all relocated to Terminal 2 between October and November 2025.
The parts of the Terminal 1 building closest to Terminal 3 — including the main entrance, the security screening hall, and the World Duty Free shop — were absorbed into an enlarged Terminal 3. This rebranding became official on 5 March 2026. Today, Terminal 3 is dedicated primarily to Ryanair, which operates a large network of European routes from Manchester. New Car Park Names (P1–P16 Numbering System)
Alongside the terminal changes, Manchester Airport introduced a new numbered car park system on 5 March 2026. All car parks across the airport are now identified by a P-number, replacing the previous names that many travellers were familiar with. JetParks 3 and JetParks Ringway also serve Terminal 3 passengers via shuttle bus, though these car parks are shared with Terminal 2 and are not part of the P13–P16 block. T3 Multi-Storey – P14 (Closest to the Terminal)
The T3 Multi-Storey car park, now signposted as P14, is the closest self-park option for passengers flying from Terminal 3. It sits directly opposite the terminal building and is the same car park that previously served Terminal 1 departures. Once you have parked, it is a walk of just a few minutes across to the check-in desks.
T3 Multi-Storey – P14
P14 uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition, so there is no need to collect a ticket on entry. If you have pre-booked, park on the first or second floor — the ground floor is reserved for passengers who turn up without a booking. T3 Mid Stay – P15

T3 Meet & Greet – P13
For the fastest and most convenient parking experience, the Meet & Greet service at Terminal 3 (P13) lets you drive directly to a dedicated area beside the terminal and hand your car to a professional driver. They will park your vehicle in a secure on-site location while you are away, and it will be brought back to you when you return. The walk from the Meet & Greet zone to the check-in desks is just a minute or two across a zebra crossing.
T3 Meet & Greet – P13
Meet & Greet is the most expensive on-site option but saves significant time and effort, especially if you are travelling with young children or have a lot of luggage. Pre-booking is essential.
JetParks 3 and JetParks Ringway (Budget Long Stay)
For the cheapest official parking at Manchester Airport, JetParks 3 and JetParks Ringway are the best options. Both are located off-site and connected to all terminals — including Terminal 3 — by a free shuttle bus that runs 24 hours a day, every 15 minutes.

Both JetParks car parks are self-park, meaning you park the car yourself and keep your keys. Note that JetParks 1 serves Terminal 2 exclusively and does not run a shuttle to Terminal 3.
Drop Off and Pick Up at Terminal 1 (Now Terminal 3)

Terminal 3 Drop Off (Forecourt): Located directly outside the terminal building. The maximum stay is 30 minutes and payments must be made online at pay.manchesterairport.co.uk by midnight the following day. A £100 charge applies if you attempt to pick up passengers in the drop-off zone.

Driving Directions to Terminal 3 (Former Terminal 1) Car Parks
All Terminal 3 car parks are accessed from Junction 5 of the M56 motorway. On leaving the motorway, stay in the right-hand lane and follow signs for Terminal 3 (you may still see some older signs referencing Terminal 1). At the first set of traffic lights, take the left-hand lane signposted for Terminal 3, Wilmslow, and Wythenshawe (A555) to join Ringway Road West.
For P14 (Multi-Storey) and P13 (Meet & Greet), follow the signs towards Terminal 3 and Parade Road. The Multi-Storey entrance is on the left after the zebra crossing. For Meet & Greet, continue past the Multi-Storey and follow the P13 signs to the dedicated meeting point.
For JetParks 3 and JetParks Ringway, continue along Ringway Road West past the terminal area. JetParks 3 is accessed via a right turn at the traffic lights. JetParks Ringway is further along Styal Road — turn left onto Ringway Road after the Shell petrol station, then right onto Shadowmoss Road. Both car parks are clearly signposted from the main road.
