The Departure Process at MAN

Manchester Airport has three terminals. It is essential to know which terminal your airline departs from before arriving at the airport.

Check-in and Bag Drop

It is recommended you arrive at the airport 2-3 hours before a short-haul flight and 4 hours before a long-haul flight. You can check in online to save time, and use the dedicated bag drop desks. Otherwise, find your airline's check-in desk in the correct departure hall.

Security Screening

After check-in, proceed to security. Ensure all liquids are under 100ml and in a clear bag. Laptops and large electronics must be removed from your hand luggage. For a faster process, consider booking a Security Fast Track pass.

To the Gates

Once through security, you will be in the departure lounge. Gate numbers are usually announced 45-60 minutes before departure. Keep an eye on the screens and allow plenty of time to walk to your gate.

If your departure was delayed or cancelled, it's worth a quick check. AirHelp tells you for free whether you're owed compensation and handles the airline for you if you are.
