Most enquiries about Manchester Airport are not actually handled by the airport itself. Flights, check in, boarding and baggage are all the responsibility of your airline. Parking is handled by the car park operator you booked with. The airport deals with the terminals, facilities and anything that happens on airport grounds.

Find the right contact first. Calling the wrong number is the single most common reason people wait on hold and get nowhere.

Who Handles What

  • Your airline: bookings, cancellations, delays, check in, boarding, lost or damaged baggage, special assistance
  • The airport: terminals, facilities, lost property inside the buildings, general enquiries
  • Your car park operator: parking bookings, amendments and refunds
  • Border Force or the Home Office: passports, visas and immigration

General Airport Enquiries

The general enquiries line covers questions about the terminals, facilities, opening times and getting to and from the airport. It cannot access your booking or trace your bag.

Is There an Email Address for Manchester Airport?

No. Manchester Airport does not publish a public customer service email address, which is why so many travellers struggle to find one. Written enquiries and complaints go through the customer feedback form on the official airport website instead.

Airline and Baggage Enquiries

Every question about a flight belongs with the airline that sold you the ticket. That includes bookings, name changes, cancellations, delays, seat allocation, check in problems and any baggage that is lost, delayed or damaged. Airport staff have no access to airline booking systems and cannot resolve these issues.

If your bag does not arrive, report it at the baggage desk in the arrivals hall before you leave the terminal. Once you have left the building the claim becomes considerably harder to make.

Contact numbers for every carrier operating from Manchester are listed in our airline directory, and there is more detail in our baggage guide.

Lost Property

Items lost inside the terminals, in the car parks or anywhere on airport grounds are handled by the airport Lost Property office. Items left on board an aircraft are handled by the airline, even if you only realised after landing.

Lost Property Phone: 0808 169 7031

Online: Log a lost item report through the official airport website.

Left on the aircraft? Contact your airline or its baggage handling agent.

Special Assistance

Assistance for passengers with reduced mobility, hidden disabilities or other additional needs is booked through your airline, not through the airport. Request it at least 48 hours before departure. The airline passes the request to the airport assistance team, who meet you at the terminal.

If you booked through a travel agent or package holiday provider, ask them to confirm the request has reached the airline.

Car Parking Enquiries

Parking bookings, amendments, refunds and access problems are handled by the operator you booked with, not by the airport switchboard. Check your booking confirmation email for the correct contact. Our parking guide explains the difference between the on site car parks and the independent operators nearby.

Passports, Visas and Immigration

Border control at Manchester Airport is operated by Border Force. The airport cannot advise on passport validity, visa requirements or entry decisions. Contact the Home Office or check the official government guidance before you travel.

Flight Delays and Compensation

If your flight was delayed, cancelled or overbooked, the claim is made against the airline under UK261. The airport is not involved and cannot process a claim on your behalf. Our passenger rights guide explains what you are entitled to and how to claim.
